This is a new event up in the North East which is being run by the local sea kayak community. Its on our calendar and we will be exhibiting and getting out on the water. Very much looking forward to paddling in a new part of the country and meeting new people.

We will be attending this event and exhibiting aswell as getting out on the water. Its the 45th year of the event and always a classic event full of emotion on and off the water :-)

The daily reports of evil war crimes are distressing & extremely alarming for all. We all have a duty to act now to stop this 21st century evil named Putin. WithUkraine is a platform set up by the Embassy of Ukraine to the UK to consolidate international efforts in raising funds to support Ukraine and its people.  Whetman Equipment will be at this event and exhibiting onsite from early morning with coffee on the go until late at night after returning from the ocean. During the day Steve Whetman will be on the water assisting with the event.
Full info: https://www.seakayakingcornwall.com/event/symposium-weekend The Drogue Chute is a rescue tool for sea kayaking to assist in a surf landing, help maintain position in deep water whilst waiting for rescue or simply rafting up to have lunch. Useful also for kayak fishing.  We have designed a special size spraydeck to fit the smaller cockpits of the NDK Echo and Pilgrim. It is available from stock as the Pressure Deck "NDK small size" in waist sizes S, M, L. Custom waist sizes made to order are also possible, for example a lower height of waist tube can be done. Over the past months we have been evaluating the application of an anchor point for towlines on the toggle line position point and use of stainless rings as a point of contact. We have concluded that the use of rings can offer the strongest and most robust & reliable connection point.
Given Toggle cords are often forgotten bits of rigging we now offer toggle replacement kits to remind people that they dont last forever and are a bit of critical rescue kit being the first contact point for swimmers. We are very excited to now be operating from our new business premises. It is only ten minutes from the old shed and on the edge of Dartmoor close to the rivers. So much more space and all clean and tidy. Its great to have proper storage of all the rope & webbing & stock materials and have dedicated areas for designing & being creative.  |
