Lettmann take their time when creating a new boat. They will refine it, test it, refine again, invite others to test and refine, refine and refine. As a family business they really want to get a boat stamped with the Lettmann marque to be perfect. As a consequence new whitewater boats are not released every year. A new Lettmann whitewater boat is a rare and very special event.
With the Rocky they have taken the best aspects of the Granate and Manta with a design brief to evolve a creek boat which delivers positive stability when you are in powerful challenging whitewater conditions. This is all about getting the hull cross section shape correct for the design brief - a black art in itself in which the Lettmann team are masters. The length of the Large Rocky is 272cm compared with the shorter Large Granate at 260cm will make it feel like a completely different boat & give it plenty of speed when needed. The XL Rocky is 283cm compared with the XL Granate of 269cm and its worth noting each size has been designed as a boat in it's own right , rather than just sizing up and down off one design.
