The Skinner is a real head turner, exudes elegance & brimming with style. It is long and sleek and definatly fast through the water. In the Skinner you can keep a low profile & eat up the distance with grace. Lettmann say it is their interpretation of a modern Greenlander and it looks the part, given it still has a keyhole cockpit & internal comfortable fittings. Certainly in wind the boat is low in the water and not prone to weather cocking. In rough water it ploughs on through the waves without losing momentum, similar to a racing surf ski; so yes it goes through the crest of big waves rather than over them, slowing down, which a boat with more rocker would do, so enjoy the sensation of the front deck getting swamped and then the boat bursts out the back side of the wave onwards!
It is a treat to power up this boat on a glassy early morning flat water run & really imagine you are flying in air. It is a different treat to take this boat out on big ocean waves and use its speed to drive down the face & let the wave steepness accelerate you into a monster surf ride.
