Whetman Equipment have been invited to attend the very first Pembrokeshire Sea Kayak Festival this coming october. This event is organised by Mike Mayberry from Mayberry Kayaking and combines Mike's extensive local knowledge of the area with a comprehensive team of high profile coaches. The event website clearly sets out the activities & courses to take place along the Pembrokeshire coastline which offers truly breathtaking & dynamic sea kayaking.
Starting this july 2016 Olly Hicks & George Bullard will paddle in a K2 from Greenland to Scotland - an epic challenge. They approached Whetman Equipment earlier this year to request Lettmann Ergonom Pro Sea paddles; they now have two sets each for their journey. In addition they are using the Whetman Equipment Sea Guide Towline.

We shall be showing our demo Lettmann sea kayaks and paddles, offering a browse of our Whetman Equipment product range & probably some fine camping coffee will be on the brew first thing in the morning. It also gives us a chance to get involved with some of the day events and blend into the stormy seas!

This year is the 50th year of Lettmann making kayaks having started in 1965. There will be a huge celebration party next month & we will be going over to Germany to be at the event at their factory.
Founded by Klaus Lettmann who recently was enrolled into the Whitewater Hall of Fame, Klaus is now semi-retired & has passed over the reigns to son & daughter Jochen & Martina. It is a true family run & owned business. Klaus & his wife still live in an apartment at the factory. Most days one finds Klaus dressed in scruffy overalls in the workshops tinkering with a new design of boat or paddle.
